Getting started with the
               Maryland Cultural Data Project

The first management tool of its kind, the Maryland CDP is a state-wide, collaborative effort of public and private funders throughout Maryland and consists of an online system for collecting and standardizing historical financial and organizational data. Many funders in Maryland now require applicants to complete a Data Profile annually through the Maryland CDP website (http://www.mdculturaldata.org). The Maryland CDP will provide the cultural community with consistent, reliable, comprehensive data on arts and culture in Maryland, and enable organizations to view trends in their data, benchmark themselves against peer organizations, and enhance their financial management capacity.

Get the most from the Maryland CDP.
Attend a free training webinar.

If you or your organization is new to the Maryland CDP, please join us for this free session in order to learn how to enter data and use the tools that are available to you. This session will be conducted via WebEx, and online conferencing tool that facilitates online meetings, accompanied by a toll-free call. In order to take part in the meeting, participants will need simultaneous access to a broadband internet connection and a phone.

The Maryland CDP is a collaborative effort of:
Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County, Baltimore Community Foundation, Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts, Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance, Maryland Heritage Areas Authority, Maryland Historical Trust, and the Maryland State Arts Council.

Pennsylvania Cultural Data Project

The Pennsylvania Cultural Data Project is a powerful, online management tool designed to strengthen arts and cultural organizations. This unique system allows users to track their own financial and programmatic performance over time and to benchmark themselves against comparable organizations in specific disciplines, geographic regions and budget sizes. Through the Pennsylvania CDP Help Desk, organizations have immediate access to free on-call technical assistance and a team of non-profit financial consultants. Pennsylvania CDP is available to large and small organizations, including those with 501(c)3 status, cultural programs within non-arts organizations, organizations using fiscal conduits, and even unincorporated collectives and festivals at no cost.

By participating in the Pennsylvania CDP, you will be part of a successful and growing project that will allow the arts community as a whole to better articulate and provide evidence for the sector's assets and needs, as well as its contributions to the state and the country.
